About this Event

2018 Seniors Retreat
April 30 – May 3, Monday through Thursday
Springville Camp and Conference Center

Our 2018 Senior Adult Retreat is coming soon! We’re looking forward to a great time of fun, food, fellowship, and worship together. Springville Camp will again be a beautiful place to relax, refresh, and to renew friendships. Everyone age 55 or older, whether minister or layperson, is invited. If you are a Senior, or you need to accompany a Senior for any reason, you’re invited to the entire retreat! The morning and evening worship services are open to ministers who would like to hear our speaker.

Special Speaker/Musician: Aaron Wilburn

We are delighted to have as our guest speaker an old friend of ours and a well known singer-songwriter and humorist, Aaron Wilburn. Some of the songs are famous: It’s Beginning to Rain, That Sounds Like Home to Me, I’ve Got A New Song to Sing, Four Days Late, and on we could go. Aaron Wilburn has written and co-written some of the most beloved gospel songs of the past 40 years. He has traveled and ministered with the Happy Goodman Family, Bill and Gloria Gaither, and many others. Aaron was born in Alabama, and early in his life realized he had a dream to be a songwriter. His ministry extended far beyond what he imagined, with chart topping songs, multiple Song of The Year nominations and awards, Dove Awards, and Grammy Nominations. A few years ago Aaron was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

His travels with the Gaither Homecoming Tour and videos brought Aaron to the attention of millions who immediately fell in love with his down-home southern humor and the stories from everyday life. Whether he’s talking about the culture of his beloved southern upbringing, his family, the church, or the experiences of being Over 40, the audience connects with him and his take on life. His wit and humor have made Aaron one of the most beloved humorists in the Christian world, and have opened doors into corporate venues where people who may not attend church see and hear the joy of the Lord in Aaron’s life. Songs like “If My Nose Was Running Money, I’d Blow It All On You” combine Aaron’s family-friendly humor with his unique song writing talent to provide healthy laughter for every age, from grandparents to children.

Since a kidney transplant in May of 2010, with his tremendous testimony of a second chance at life, Aaron has become an ambassador from the stage for the Kidney Foundation. Even with such a serious subject, he will have you in stitches, as he tells of the results in his life from having a female kidney. He finds laughter and joy in every situation, and you will find inspiration and hope in the songs and humor of Aaron Wilburn. Aaron’s life and work have exalted Jesus Christ, and have brought joy to millions of people.
